2009-2010 Utah Scottish Association Standing Committees


Except for Nominating Committee, all committees are coordinated by the President and chairs are responsible for submitting action plans and budget proposals at the call of the President and must work within approved board budget.


Standing Committees are chaired by a board member, the chair submits a written summary report prior to AGM.

 

Finance Chair - Diane

Review financial status compared to last year, conduct YTD review of current revenue/expenses against budget, review action plans against budget & make recommendations

Nominating Chair past pres -Trenda

Generate slate of qualified viable candidates for office, functions 45 days prior to AGM and coordinates ballot to general membership 30 days prior to AGM. [This committee is under the direction of the immediate past president (or advisor if designated)]

Membership Chair Sec -Tammi (data manager) Ast. Chair - Shawna (membership) Mary (outreach)

Assist new members, maintain database of members, coordinates correspondence with members, nominated members for special honors, promote membership growth & retention, benefits & services

Communication Chair - Bob

Select, monitor & operate Association’s website, coordinate production of Clarsach newsletter, recommends & follow through on all marketing aspects of association


“Southern” Events Chair - Doe

Coordinate, plan & execute association events, recommend pricing, establish budget, assist with promotional efforts in SLC, UT counties

“Northern” Events Chair - Brad

Coordinate, plan & execute association events, recommend pricing, establish budget, assist with promotional efforts in Davis and Cache counties

 

Festival & Highland Games Chair 2nd VP - Dan H

Coordinate & execute the association Festival & Highland Games at Lehi and Cache Valley, recommends pricing, establishes budget, works with membership & communication committees to promote activities

Sponsorship/Funding/Grants Chair - Brooke

Plan, coordinate and solicit sponsorship, funding & grants for the association

 

Bylaws Chair Past Pres - Trenda

Maintain and revise the bylaws of the association as necessary


Past President’s Committee Chair Past Pres - Trenda

Keep past presidents of association involved with current activities and act as ambassadors to the Utah Scottish community

Clan Council Chair - Dan S

Coordinate, assist and monitor the creation and maintenance of a Clan Council, generate a format for inviting clan reps, develop initial goals & expectations for creating council, serve as liaison between council and board.
